Frequently Asked Questions
Who provides Ignition BMS & SCADA integration in Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Orange County?
Automation Advance is a certified Ignition integrator based in Costa Mesa, California. We design, build, and support Ignition BMS & SCADA systems for facilities in Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Orange County, with on-site work when it helps and remote delivery when it doesn't need a truck roll.
Do you take on Ignition BMS & SCADA projects remotely?
Yes. Ignition is web-based and its gateways can be reached securely, so development, migrations, troubleshooting, upgrades, and ongoing support can be done remotely for clients outside Southern California. We travel for site walkdowns and commissioning where a project calls for it.
Can you move us from legacy BMS, SCADA, or HMI software to Ignition without replacing our PLCs?
In most cases, yes. Ignition connects to a wide range of PLCs and devices over OPC UA and native drivers, so the working controllers and field hardware stay in place while the front end, alarming, and historian are rebuilt on Ignition. We plan the cutover in phases so operations keep running.
What does an Ignition BMS & SCADA project include?
Typically: a site assessment, gateway and tag architecture, Perspective or Vision HMIs, alarming and notification, historian and trending, reporting, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing support. Projects can be scoped to just the pieces you need.
Can you take over or improve an Ignition system someone else built?
Yes. We can review an existing gateway, clean up tag structures, improve alarming and performance, plan upgrades, and add new screens or integrations.
Do you build BMS as well as SCADA on Ignition?
Yes, both are core to what we do. Ignition connects to building systems over BACnet, Modbus, and MQTT as readily as it connects to PLCs over OPC UA, so one platform and one gateway can cover your building management and your process SCADA. It is the main reason many facilities consolidate on it.
